This is Debian/GNU Linux's prepackaged version of C News
by Geoff Collyer and Henry Spencer.

This package was put together by Otmar Lendl (lendl@cosy.sbg.ac.at)
and Roman Hodek (Roman.Hodek@informatik.uni-erlangen.de). The sources
are from ftp.sunet.se. C News does not use a numbered version scheme,
but sets of patches. This version includes them up to CR.G.

The changes in this package are essentially the addition of
preconfigured `config.h' files and so forth and the addition of
support for the Debian package maintenance scheme, by adding various
debian.* files.

A very small patch has been applied to fix a small problem in
the conf/update.* scripts. They need a #!/bin/sh line otherwise
make cannot execute them.

Please read /usr/doc/cnews/README for more information on the setup.
