This is the Debian GNU/Linux prepackaged version of the GNU
C/C++/Objective-C compiler and the GNU cpp preprocessor. GCC was written
by Richard Stallman and a cast of thousands. (See "Contributors" in the
info documentation for a full list.)

This package was put together by Ian Murdock <imurdock@debian.org>,
from sources obtained from:
 ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/gcc-2.7.2.1.tar.gz
Cpp and gcc were separated by Siggy Brentrup <bsb@uni-muenster.de>. It is
currently maintained by Galen Hazelwood <galenh@micron.net>.

These sources also build the aout-gcc package, used for developing archaic
a.out binaries in conjuction with aout-binutils and libc4-dev. All
copyright information is identical to gcc.

Changes:
 * added Debian GNU/Linux package maintenance system files
 * patched to support GNU Fortran (taken from g77-0.5.19)
 * Minor fix to invoke.texi (added @itemize @bullet and @end itemize)
 * Added lastest Objective-C patches for gnustep people (taken from
   gstep-base-0.2.12)
