Upstream sources of yabasic were obtained from
<http://www.yabasic.de/download.htm>.

The original author is Marc-Oliver Ihm <mail@yabasic.de>.

yabasic was packaged for Debian by Johnie Ingram <johnie@debian.org>,
and later maintained by Robert S. Edmonds <stu@novare.net>. The current
Debian maintainer is Matej Vela <vela@debian.org>.

yabasic may be copied only under the terms of the Artistic License or
the GNU General Public License (GPL), both of which are distributed
  with yabasic.

[Can't you make up your mind ?!], I hear you say. Umm, well yes. In
fact I do not want to read or try to understand them both, so I have
put the burden on you (grin). However, I think that the Artistic
License is more liberal and gives you more rights and you should
choose it; on the other hand the GPL is more widely known and a lot of
software is distributed under its terms.

Here is a list of things that are possible under the terms of the
  Artistic License:
    * Put yabasic on your own homepage or CD and even charge for the
      service of distributing yabasic.
    * Write your own yabasic-programs, pack your program and yabasic
into a package and sell the whole thing.
    * Modify yabasic and add or remove features, sell the modified
      version.

The Debian packaging is copyright (C) 1996-1998 Johnie Ingram,
(C) 1998-2000 Robert S. Edmonds, (C) 2001-2005 Matej Vela, and released
under the terms of the GNU General Public License; version 2, or any
later version.

On Debian systems, the complete text of the GNU General Public License
can be found in /usr/share/common-licenses/GPL; the complete text of the
Artistic License can be found in /usr/share/common-licenses/Artistic.
