Title: A Flexible Remote Execution Protocol Based on rsh
Author: Jordan Brown
Abstract: One of the X Window System's main strengths is the ability to
display and control graphical applications remotely. It does not,
however, address the issue of how to start these applications. This
document defines a small protocol which layers on top of a relatively
primitive remote execution facility (rsh/rexec/krsh), which allows
application startup in a fairly machine-independent way, without
requiring the requester to understand the detailed requirments of the
 remote system.
